Edullect Madrasa is an exclusively online, non-profit social enterprise and Islamic project of Edullect Limited, based in London, UK. Founded by Shah Sher Ali in 2018 as Edullect Academy, the madrasa initially conducted sessions on hired school premises. In response to the COVID-19 lockdown in 2020, Edullect Madrasa transitioned entirely online, allowing us to serve learners from across the UK.
Our mission is to make Islamic education accessible and affordable. Inspired by the collaborative efforts of the Shah’s family, much credit goes to Shah’s mother, Mrs. Khoyrun Bibi. As a spiritual guide and former Qur’an teacher in Bedford, Bedfordshire, she sponsored her grandson, Shah Ali Faez, to study Hifz al-Qur’an at Darul Uloom Leicester. After qualifying within three years, Hafiz Shah Faez returned home to co-found Edullect Madrasa and serve as a Qur’an and Hifz teacher.
- Preserve the Qur’an through recitation and memorisation.
- Understand its meaning according to the Prophet Mohammad (pbuh).
- Apply its teachings in daily life according to the Prophet Mohammad (pbuh).
Our leadership, management, and most of our teaching staff serve voluntarily, investing their time as sadaqah jariyah (ongoing charity). Course fees cover essential digital costs and provide for the invaluable time of two of our seven qualified Qur’an and Islamic teachers who rely on these income.
At Edullect Madrasa, we prioritise the welfare of our learners, working closely with parents to address the challenges young people face today, from their Islamic identity to everyday issues at school, within society, or at home. Our comprehensive courses range from absolute beginners aged 7 and above to advanced learners and adults, ensuring quality Islamic education for all.
Edullect Madrasa utilises Google Workspace for its virtual teaching and learning technology. Our teachers use Google Meet to deliver online video sessions, ensuring an engaging and effective learning experience by maintaining a maximum of four students per session. This small group size allows for personalised attention and maximises learning impact. To participate, students are required to have a computer or tablet device equipped with an HD camera and microphone. This setup ensures clear communication and an interactive learning environment.
